Maria Irma Rubio De Leon, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of her family, left this world to be with the Lord on October 17, 2026, at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on December 23, 1958, in Rancho San Antonio, Municipio de Río Bravo, Tamaulipas, to Hilario Zamora and Armandina De Leon.
Maria was a woman whose life was defined by love, generosity, and selflessness. Her greatest joy was her family, and she devoted her life wholeheartedly to her beloved husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They were her entire world, the center of her heart, and the reason behind so much of what she did. Her love was not only expressed through her words but, more importantly, through her actions and the countless ways she cared for those around her.
Maria had a special gift for making people feel cared for, welcomed, and loved. One of the ways she shared her heart was through her cooking. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, preparing delicious meals for family, friends, and people throughout the community. Whether someone was celebrating a birthday or preparing for a special event, Maria was happy to help provide the food, especially when she knew someone needed a little extra support. Giving came naturally to her, and she never hesitated to share what she had with others. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and generosity, and her meals were one of the many ways she showed people just how much she cared.
Maria also found happiness in tending to her plants. She enjoyed nurturing them and watching them grow, even if gardening did not always come as naturally to her as cooking did. Her efforts to care for her plants reflected the same loving spirit she brought to every part of her life. She had a beautiful way of giving of herself, always trying, always caring, and always finding joy in the simple things.
Above all, Maria will be remembered for her enormous heart, her willingness to help others, and the deep love she had for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and devotion that will continue to live on through the lives she touched. Though her family will deeply miss her presence, the memories of her love, the meals she lovingly prepared, and the countless ways she made life better for those around her will forever remain in their hearts.
Maria is now reunited in eternal peace with her beloved parents, Hilario and Armandina; her cherished son, Eduardo Rubio De Leon; and her siblings, Andrea Zamora, Aida Zamora, Zulema Zamora, Alberto Zamora, Aaron Gonzalez, and Dora Elia Zamora, who preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her beautiful memory is her loving husband, Austraberto Rubio Cruz; her children, Irma (Adan) Rodriguez, Delia (Angel) Cardenas Rubio, Austraberto (Vilma) Rubio Jr., Lizbeth (Elias) Velasquez, and Noe Rubio; her beloved grandchildren, Samantha, Alejandro, Katalina, Eduardo Jr., Jennavicia, Jesus, Natalia, Angel Damia, Tahlia, Miannette, Manuel, Nicolas, and Ezra and Nathan; her precious great-grandchildren, Antonio and Mateo; and her siblings, Hilario Zamora and Maria Beltran. She will also be lovingly remembered by her extended family, dear friends, and all those who were blessed to know her.
Though Maria's earthly journey has come to an end, the love she planted in the hearts of her family and everyone she helped will continue to grow for generations to come. May the Lord welcome her into His loving embrace and grant her everlasting peace. Her family finds comfort in knowing that one day they will be reunited with her in God's heavenly kingdom.
