Maria Reyes Salinas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and faithful servant of God, entered into eternal rest and went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2026, at the age of 96. She passed peacefully at her residence in Edcouch, Texas, surrounded by the love and presence of her family.
Maria was born on February 16, 1930, in Soto La Marina, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Mariano Beas and Beatriz Hinojosa. She lived a life rooted in faith, love, humility, and devotion to her family.
Left to cherish her precious memory is her beloved husband, Ruben Salinas, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and dedication. She was a loving mother to her nine children: Elba Beatriz Salinas Beas, Minerva Salinas, Sandrivina Salinas, Ermelindo Salinas, Ludivina Salinas, Marilu Salinas, Alma Gloria Salinas, Afroraida Salinas, and Rubaldina “Ruby” Salinas.
Maria's legacy continues through her 29 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her unwavering love, wisdom, and example.
A woman of deep faith, Maria read her Bible daily and found strength and comfort in God's word throughout her life. She enjoyed tending to her plants, sewing, and crocheting, finding joy in the simple blessings of each day. Though she described herself as a simple housewife, her life's work was extraordinary. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her husband, her children, and her home, creating a place filled with warmth, faith, and love.
One of Maria's greatest expressions of love was through cooking. Nothing brought her more happiness than preparing her loved ones' favorite meals and gathering family around the table. Through these acts of care and service, she nourished not only their bodies but also their hearts.
Maria was the heart of her family—a woman of remarkable resilience whose strength carried her loved ones through life's joys and challenges. She was their rock, a steady and comforting presence they could always depend on. Family and friends alike sought her wisdom and guidance, knowing she always had the right words to offer comfort, perspective, and hope.
Like a lighthouse guiding ships through the darkness, Maria was the one her family turned to whenever they felt lost. Her faith, wisdom, and unwavering love provided direction and reassurance, no matter the circumstance. Through every trial, she remained steadfast, often reminding those around her that "all is good," a reflection of the trust and peace she carried in her heart. Her strength was beyond words, and the example she set will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
Maria will be remembered for her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, remarkable strength, selfless devotion to her family, and the countless lives she touched through her kindness, wisdom, and love. Her family finds comfort in knowing she has been welcomed into the loving arms of her Savior and reunited with those who have gone before her.
Though she will be deeply missed, her love, faith, and legacy will live on for generations to come.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
