Oh, how I will miss my Tia Marie.  I will miss the glow in her face when she greeted me; the joy in her voice when she spoke to me; the warm embraces and love that overflowed with each sign of affection; the way she would gush with effusive praises of pride and love over me, always reminding me how much she loved me; the birthday calls and even the misdials when she meant to call someone else and dialed me instead; she never failed to express her copious love for me.  God blessed her with such a wonderful, bright shining light that emanated from her heart in such a genuine and loving way.  She exuded love, joy, and kindness.  Her capacity to love knew no bounds.  She cared and loved for my brothers and sisters and me like a mother would.  She even named me when I was born, and that I will always treasure.  

I am stricken with immense sadness over the loss of my Tia Marie.  The pain of no longer having her with us is unbearable, but I find comfort in knowing that she will live on in my heart and I know she will be looking out over us, protecting and guiding us.

I will miss her greatly.  Tia Marie always held a special place in my heart and will forever be remembered.

Para mi amada tía María,
Tía Maria, la vida nunca será igual para todos nosotros, nos mostraste tanto amor que nunca te olvidaremos. Crecimos siendo criados como tus propios hijos porque en el fondo creías realmente que éramos tuyos. Siempre recordaré y apreciaré los años en que todos vivimos en un pequeño pueblito en el norte de Texas, y cómo fuimos a lugares como familia. Nunca olvidaré cuando era un niño y solíamos a la feria del condado juntos o a los rodeos en Lubbock como familia. A menudo me dijiste que algún día querías volver a New Deal solo por los recuerdos. Fue un momento feliz porque estabas con nosotros. Esto fue hace mucho tiempo, pero siempre la recordaremos como una tía muy amable, amorosa y cariñosa. Amabas a todos de la manera más genuina y sincera. Nunca te olvidaremos y esperamos que algún día te volvamos a ver y estemos juntos, para siempre. Dios te bendiga tía María y gracias por los recuerdos amorosos, amor querido.

Grandma was always ready to love and serve. She cooked, she hosted. Every time we visited Texas you knew she would spoil you. She enjoyed having company over and always made everyone feel loved. I remember playing Bingo. That was grandmas way of fun! Her favorites especially were el alacran y las Rosa. I also remember her loving to watch movies with me. She would especially love the ones that had animals included. Grandma had a soft spot for animals. I loved how she loved our fur babies like her own. She loved her Romito, nena cañona, and Camilita. I also remember and loved when she would visit in the winter. We would get all the foods we ate once a year when she would come but we also would get all her favorites she would get in Florida: like Chinos, buds and cuban food.

I remember the one on one time I had with grandma. She would tell me about her life... the hard parts but also what she cherished the most. Grandma loved her family. She had so many stories of her children, her brothers and sisters, and her grandchildren. I loved hearing her share about her memories. During these one on on times she would either be cooking or she would be laying in bed as I played with her hair... 

I will cherish her for ever. Grandma will be greatly missed. Te amo welita... buela con Los Angeles... yo se que estas en Paz con tio chuy y callito... Mis angeles de la guarda ♥️
