Melinda Sue Rodriguez, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, wife, and cherished friend, was born on August 7, 1970, in Michigan. On August 4, 2026, in Weslaco, Texas, Melinda peacefully left this earthly life to be with the Lord, just three days before her 56th birthday.
Melinda lived life to the fullest and did so in a way that was uniquely her own. She was a strong-willed woman who stood firmly through the adversities and challenges life placed before her. She faced difficult moments with strength, determination, and an unwavering spirit. Those who knew her will remember her not only for her strength, but also for her ability to joke around, make people laugh, and bring a little lightness to even the simplest moments.
Above all, Melinda absolutely loved her family. Some of her happiest moments were spent surrounded by the people she loved, sharing laughter, stories, and precious memories. Family was at the heart of her life, and the love she had for them was unmistakable. She will forever be remembered for the special place she held in the hearts of those closest to her.
Melinda had many things that brought her joy. She enjoyed listening to classic rock music and could often be found enjoying the excitement of WWE and WCW wrestling. She was also a proud fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Yet, perhaps one of her greatest joys was the unconditional companionship of her beloved furbaby, Shera, who was a treasured part of her life and family.
Melinda’s life was one of resilience, laughter, love, and perseverance. She was a woman who stood strong, loved deeply, and lived life with a spirited heart. Though her time here was far too short, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain with her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Melinda is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, †Thomas Salinas Castillo, and her father, †Ezequiel Rodriguez. Though her family grieves her absence, they find comfort in knowing that she is at peace and no longer burdened by the struggles of this life.
Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her loving mother, Juanita Rodriguez, beloved siblings: Lisa Jurado; Teri (David) Garcia; Melissa (Albert Rivera) Rodriguez; Sharon Martinez; Michael (Angie) Rodriguez; and Kevin Rodriguez.
She also leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews, Andrew Garcia, Santiago Martinez Jr., Nikki Jurado, Aaron Martinez, Dillen Currier, Jimmy Martinez, Jasmine Martinez, Jorden Gamez, and Kevilynn Rodriguez, who will carry with them the memories, laughter, and love they shared with their beloved aunt.
And forever remembered is her faithful furbaby, Shera, who brought Melinda comfort, companionship, and unconditional love.
Melinda may no longer be here to share a joke, cheer for the Cowboys, enjoy her favorite classic rock songs, or watch her wrestling matches, but her spirit will live on in every story told, every laugh shared, and every memory held close. Her life touched those around her in ways that cannot be measured, and her memory will remain a treasured part of the family she loved so dearly.
