Ofelia Leal

Ofelia was born on July 12, 1951, to Cecilio Oviedo and Silveria Cerda. She lived a life rooted in love, devotion, and family. Her greatest joy was found in caring for those she loved, especially her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world.

She is survived by her beloved daughters, Ofelia Erica (Marco A.) Torres and Santanita Coral Castaneda. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren: Roxane Torres, Rebecca Luna, Maria Cruz Reyna, Michelle Torres, Krystal Coronado, Zaidee Lerma, Jasmine Castaneda, Jaime Castaneda III, and Renesmee Castaneda. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Liam Luna, Alexander Reyna, Lyla Luna, Arabella Reyna, Alison Cisneros, Armando Cisneros Jr., and Lily Luna. Each held a special place in her heart, and she took great pride in watching them grow and flourish.

Ofelia is also survived by her loving brothers, Simon Oviedo Cerda, Juan Francisco Oviedo Cerda, Benjamin Oviedo Cerda, and Leoncio Oviedo Cerda, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly. She is now reunited in Heaven with her parents, Cecilio Oviedo and Silveria Cerda, her great grandson Xavier Reyna; and her sisters Hermelinda Oviedo Cerda, and Petra Oviedo Cerda.

Our grandmother was a woman who loved caring for others. Whether she was cooking a homemade meal, cleaning, or helping someone in need, she had a special gift for making any place feel like home. She found joy in gardening, spending time tending to her plants, and soaking up the warmth of the sun. Family meant everything to her, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. She especially loved playing hide-and-seek with her great-grandchildren, always finding a way to bring smiles and laughter to their faces. Above all, she had a deep faith in the Lord, trusting Him through life’s blessings and challenges. Her faith guided the way she lived, loved, and cared for those around her. Our grandmother never backed down from a challenge and faced life’s hardships with remarkable strength and determination. From beginning to end, she was a strong, loving, faithful, and resilient woman whose kindness and warmth will forever remain in our hearts.
