Olivia was born on July 9, 1944, in Michigan to Leandro Jimenez Lopez and Francisca Mascorro. Throughout her 82 years, Olivia lived a life filled with love, laughter, creativity, and, most of all, people. She never wanted to be far from others and could always find an excuse to gather, visit, or meet someone new. To Olivia, a stranger was simply a friend she had not met yet.
She had a gift for making people feel welcome and at home. An amazing cook and talented baker, Olivia expressed much of her love through the meals and treats she lovingly prepared for family and friends. Her kitchen was a place where memories were made, stories were shared, and there was almost always something delicious waiting to be enjoyed.
Olivia was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Jimmy Neal Taylor. Her love for Jimmy naturally made her a devoted Texas A&M fan, proudly cheering on the Aggies. She also had a special love for her old Cadillac, which was as much a part of her personality as her warm smile and outgoing spirit.
Over the years, Olivia enjoyed many hobbies and interests, but one of her favorites was creating costume jewelry. She poured her creativity into each piece and proudly sold her creations at the stock show. For Olivia, it was not only about making beautiful things—it was another opportunity to meet people, share her talents, and enjoy the company of others.
Olivia will be remembered for her generous heart, her wonderful cooking and baking, her creativity, her love of conversation, and her unmistakable ability to bring people together. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leandro Jimenez Lopez and Francisca Mascorro; and by her siblings, Salvador Lopez, Loy Lopez, Oralia Lopez, and Bebe Lopez.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Jimmy Neal Taylor; her brothers, Lee Lopez and his family; and her sisters, Clarita Lopez and Ofelia Lopez and their families, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who were blessed to know her.
Olivia’s passing leaves a beautiful space in the lives of those who loved her. Though she is no longer here to share a meal, tell a story, create a piece of jewelry, or gather everyone together, the love she gave so freely will remain. Her memory will live on in every recipe she inspired, every laugh she shared, every friendship she made, and every heart she touched.
She lived with an open heart, loved with devotion, and never needed much of an excuse to bring people together. Olivia will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
