

Perfecta Perez, age 82 left to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. Perfecta was born on November 14, 1941 to Vicente Gonzalez and Guadalupe Rojas in Michoacan, Mexico and in 1999, she became a US citizen, which she was very proud of, and a testament to her perseverance to become a beacon to her family and community. Perfecta had a vibrant spirit and a zest for life that shone brightly in everything she did. Her summers were marked by exhilarating road trips to Las Vegas, where she reveled in the excitement of the casinos. She also loved trips to the beach at South Padre Island. She delighted in dancing at quinceañeras and weddings and even at home in her living room. Perfecta could not resist the rhythm of Tejano and Mariachi music. Her weekends were filled with the dishes she savored with great pleasure such as tacos, barbacoa, pancakes and menudo. Shopping and spending quality time with her grandchildren were among Perfecta's greatest joy, weaving a tapestry of her cherished moments that defined her colorful and loving life. Perfecta raised five children and six grandchildren as her own. Despite having only a 2nd grade education, Perfecta's boundless determination and unwavering love provided a strong foundation for her family's success. Through her resilience and relentless support, she raised children and grandchildren who excelled academically, achieving milestones she had only dreamed of. Her descendants went on to graduate from High School, attended prestigious colleges and universities and earn bachelor's and master's degrees. Today, Perfecta's grandchildren serve as nurses, doctors and teachers embodying the values of hard work and dedication she instilled in them, proving that her profound impact extended far beyond the classroom. Perfecta had an unending love for her grandchildren, always finding joy in their laughter and warmth in their presence. Her eyes would light up with pride and affection whenever they were near and she cherished every moment spent with them, making each visit a treasured memory. She was a steadfast supporter for her granddaughters and great-granddaughter, Ambrosia Lynn attending her volleyball and softball games with unwavering enthusiasm. Perfecta's presence on the sidelines was a constant source of encouragement for Ambrosia. Perfecta's dedication to these games not only highlighted her deep affection for her great-granddaughter but also reinforced the special bond they shared, making each game a treasured memory for all. Perfecta had a deep and abiding love for her animals that brought her immense joy especially during the migration season when she would eagerly watch the birds outside. The sight of green parrots flocking to the mesquite trees in her backyard enchanted Perfecta, as she delighted in observing the little green birds darting from branch to branch. Sharing these serene moments with her grandchildren, she made each observation a cherished experience. Her most recent companion, Lucky, held a special place in her heart, embodying the affection she had for all creatures and adding warmth and love that defined her home.Perfecta is once again with the love of her life, Jose, and their reunion brings a profound sense of joy and peace. After years apart, their love has transcended time and distance, reuniting them in a place where their hearts can be together once more. Their enduring bond, filled with cherished memories and deep affection, now finds new expression in their eternal companionship. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children: Josefina (Frederick) Green, Maria Guadalupe Perez, Gilberto Perez, Francisco Perez, Jose Luis (Ninfa) Perez, Amanda (Raymond Sanchez) Perez Sanchez, Stephanie Perfecta (Joseph Treviño) Perez, Jessica Renee (Ro) Barroso, Victoria Lee (Christian Torres) Perez, Frank (Ashley) Agueros III & Stacy Nicole Perez; grandchildren & great-grandchildren: Ambrosia Lynn Peña, Jewel Gonzalez, Zeke Gonzalez, Julian Jace Treviño, Jayson Reese Treviño, Phoenix Torres & Ariel Torres, Gilbert Perez Jr, Edward Perez and family. Family will receive friends Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 12 pm to 10 pm with a rosary recited at 7 pm at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Friday, September 20, 2024 at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Weslaco, followed by the interment at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
