

Reynaldo was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose life was defined by love, dedication, and hard work. He shared 54 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Maria T. Villarreal. Their bond was one of deep affection, and they found great joy in dancing together—a reflection of the love and happiness they built throughout their life.
He is lovingly remembered by his children: Veronica Villarreal, Ray Villarreal, Sylvia Ann Villarreal (Luis Sanchez), Abel Villarreal, Omar Villarreal (Judy Villarreal), and Juan Villarreal (Jackie Lozano). Reynaldo was a proud grandfather to 19 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to 6 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Francisca Villarreal, and his brother, Miguel Villarreal.
At the young age of 17, Reynaldo was drafted into military service in 1970. He served his country honorably during the Vietnam War and was wounded in combat before being discharged in 1972. His bravery and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Reynaldo was a hardworking man who dedicated 36 years of his life to Pioneer Hi-Bred, where he built a career marked by commitment and perseverance from 1977 until his retirement in 2011. His strong work ethic carried into every aspect of his life—he took pride in everything he did, especially when it came to keeping his trucks spotless and well cared for.
Above all, Reynaldo treasured his family. He especially loved being a grandfather, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, warmth, and unconditional love. His presence, strength, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel Highland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6705 North Fm 88, Weslaco, Texas 78596, on April 16, 2026, from 3PM to 10PM, with a rosary at 7PM.
A Chapel Service will take place at 10AM, followed by burial at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 Inspiration Rd, Mission, TX 78572, on April 17, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
Reynaldo’s legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the countless lives he touched. He will forever be remembered for his love, his resilience, and the joy he brought to those around him.
