San Juana Palomo was born on October 27, 1947, in Mercedes, Texas, to Antonio Chavira and Petra Rios. She passed away on October 8, 2026, at the age of 78. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Jose Palomo and her son Ricardo Palomo.
Family was at the heart of San Juana’s life. She was family-oriented and loved being with her loved ones. The time she shared with them and the memories they made together will remain a treasured part of her legacy.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Elisa (Alfonso) Garcia, Jose (Rosalinda) Palomo, Gabriel (Erica) Palomo, Israel (Maria de Jesus) Palomo, and Cesar (Laura) Palomo. She leaves behind grandchildren who will cherish her memory: Alfonso Garcia Jr., Jose Alfonso Garcia, Rosalinda Cavazos, Sylvia Bautista, Pedro S. Palomo, Alexa Palomo, Penelope R. Palomo, Gabrielle Becerra, Gabriel Palomo Jr., Alma Palomo, Analisa Palomo, Abbey Palomo, Crystal Palomo, Guadalupe Palomo, Alejandra Sosa, Israel Palomo Jr., Isabel Khripunov, Georgina Palomo, Israel Palomo, Nicholas Palomo, Lauren C. Palomo, Jose E. Palomo, and Elisa San Juana Palomo.
She is also cherished by her 19 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Maria Teresa Bernal.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel Highland, located at 6705 FM 88, Weslaco, Texas 78596. Public visitation will begin Monday, October 12, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. and continue until 11:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday, October 13, at 8:00 a.m., followed by a chapel service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Memorial Park.Services are under the direction of Funeraria del Angel Highland.
