Viola Bolstad

(nee Hotvedt) of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away Monday January 7, 2013 at the age of 98. Born February 27, 1914 in Rosholt, WI to the late Nels E and Lisa Hotvedt. Viola is survived by her son, Donald (Rose) Bolstad of Hawthorn Woods, IL , her sister Elizabeth Anderson of West St Paul, MN, daughter-in law Jane Bolstad of Lubbock, TX , son-in-law Peter Van Vleet of Waynesboro VA, grandchildren Kathy (Larry) Case, Eric (Kristy) Bolstad, David Van Vleet, Katy (Ed) McLaughlin, Andrew Van Vleet, Russell L Bolstad and Timothy A Bolstad, 13 great-grand children and 1 great-great grandson. Further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell O Bolstad, her son William R Bolstad, her daughter Ann Lisa Van Vleet, brothers Burton E Hotvedt and Arnold R Hotvedt and sister Elsie Hotvedt Thorson.

Funeral Service 12 pm on Wednesday January 16, 2013 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1236 S Layton Blvd, Milwaukee, WI 53215. Interment Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Graduating in 1935 from Stevens Point Normal College, Viola taught in various Central Wisconsin schools. After raising her family, she returned to teaching in the Wauwatosa Public School System. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Circle at Church. Memorial donations may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church. Visitation Wednesday at the Church from 11 am until time of Service.
