
He attended Notre Dame de Manila for his elementary and High school education. After High school he entered the (OMI) Oblates of Mary Immaculate Seminary and a few months after left to join the (PMA) Philippine Military Academy. He then received his acceptance letter from (MIT) Mapua Institute of Technology in the Mechanical Engineering Dept. A couple of years after he transferred and graduated from Don Bosco Technical Institute where he took Automotive Technology and Management. His love and passion for cars led him to his successful and lifelong Automotive Career. He was a technician, Rally driver, Service Advisor and Auto salesman. He was a working student at Sarkis Motors, joined Casa Motors in Makati and was one of the pioneer Service Advisors in (TCI) Toyota Cubao Inc when it opened in 1989. He won 3rd place in the Toyota National Service Advisors Skills Olympics in 1990. In 1993 he was offered to work at Al Futtaim Motors Toyota in Dubai, UAE and in 1995 he became the National Toyota Service Advisor Skills Olympics Champion, UAE. In 1997 he got married to his former co worker in Toyota Cubao, Louise. With their mutual decision he left Dubai in 1998 and moved back to the Philippines. He landed a job as Service Manager at Autoworks Mercedes Benz in Makati. In 1999 Bernard and his wife decided to start their family in California, and has lived in El Monte since 2003. In 2002 they welcomed their first baby, Anakin Jhed and in 2005 Darren Judd was born. He worked in Sales at Karplus, then as Service Advisor in Honda Gardena, he worked at WM Wireless, and started his own business Whoosh Express and later Berformance. He loved the outdoors,he was very athletic, he was a licensed PADI scuba diver, the beach was his happy place, he rode horses, kayaks, hiking, skates etc. He is your all around guy, he sings and dances. He loves to attend and organize family and friends' events and reunions. He loves to eat, watch movies,travel, explore new places and was very adventurous. One of his great travel accomplishments with his family was being able to go to all the 21 Missions in California, which took years to complete. He was the cook, plumber, HVAC tech, gardener, handy man, auto tech, painter, carpenter, driver,shopper,runner, teacher, name it and he can do it. Whatever needs to get done he'll make it happen. He was friendly, generous and kind, will walk the extra mile for you. He knew the neighbors and had a network of people. That's why he used to jokingly tell his family he could run for Mayor in El Monte. He was super cool, always calm and quiet but really funny and talked with sense. It was always family first for him, was his#1 priority. He was a man of integrity and God fearing. Sunday masses and daily rosary prayer with family. He loves to collect watches, shoes and hot wheels cars. Bernard's legacy shall live on.
