My sincerest sympathy and prayers for the Yap Family. May your father rest in peace with Our Heavenly Father. Amen.

For more than four decades I and my family have not had a glimpse of Cho Ondo. Sad to note--but we have not gotten in touch with members of his family, too!

It began during the harder days, when the seas were  rough and the lives of Mom's and Cho Ondo's lineage were hard, really hard!

Then came the better days, brighter...things had gone a little better. Their goodness will have been greater if the siblings were able to stick with each other anew... in one place--to make up for the bitter loss of the valuable time when they were apart.

My mom, Carmen, had always prayed, crying a many nights, wishing  to meet everyone of her family anew--Tiya Inday, Tiya Azon, Tiyo Minoy, Tiyo Nene...Tiya Pining and Tiyo Ondo,  

But, NO, the day shall come no more. Tiyo Ondo has gone ahead...he followed Tiya Azon, Tiyo Nene, Tiyo Minoy and Tiya Inday...I guess the remaining two --Tiya Pining and my Mom shall take their leave shortly, too! 

But I guess the Good Lord always grants the wishes of those who fervently pray--I am sure, my good uncle Tiyo Ondo, also sought, among his last ones--the wish to see his family again, at least, Mom and Tiya Pining, before he went. I am sure the Good Lord has granted their prayers.

Mom (who is now sick of Alzheimer) suddenly uttered Tiyo Ondo's name from out of nowhere. For a minute, her memory had clear thoughts of his dear little brother who is far far away and who is now has gone. 

She did not know it--but it was as if his presence was felt by the old woman, now 86--the loving sister that she is, all the way. 

When the eldest among our cousins--Kuya Boy Mante, passed away... we have not informed Mom about it at once....but when Sister Zeny came home from kuya boy's wake.  Mom suddenly declared that Kuya Boy has indeed passed away. "How did you know, Mom,"..Zeny asked. And Mom, who has already lost interest in talking, blurted out--"well, he is just behind YOU and he is bidding me GOODBYE."

I guess, Tiyo Ondo did the same.

I believe that even as the earthly body goes...the spirit of his love--the true soul, lingers to express adoration and reverence to his beloved ones--and that include ALL of us.
