Elvira Lucero Valenzuela, age 79, passed away on January 1, 2017 in West Covina.

Elvira was born on June 3, 1937 in Ejido Hidalgo, Nuevo Casas Grandes Chihuahua, Mexico to Esteban and Dolores Lucero. She had 5 brothers and 3 sisters. She was born to a modest but humble family, Elvira spent her younger days in her hometown helping her family. She met and married her husband Belisario Valenzuela in 1956. She migrated to the United States and settled in California in 1966, she was a homemaker her entire married life. She was devoted to her family, always putting the needs of her children and grandchildren before her own. Her passion was gardening and her favorite flower was the rose. She loved to wear bright colors and would match her jewelry to her clothing.

Elvira was an adoring, caring and dedicated mother and grandmother to her four children and nine grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Belisario Valenzuela, her children Jaime, Sergio (wife Arcelia), Glenda and Dora. Her grandchildren are: Jacob, Jennifer, Stephanie, Angel, Celina, Vanessa, Alyssia, Victor and Diana. She also had 6 great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 10th at Funeraria Del Angel Pierce Brothers located at 2333 West Merced Ave, West Covina, CA 91790. The funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 11th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 344 W Workman St. Covina, CA 91723, burial services will be held at Resurrection Cemetery 966 N. Potrero Grande Dr. Rosemead, CA 91770.
