October 31, 1971 – May 26, 2026
With profound sadness and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of our beloved Jaime Barcena, who entered eternal rest on May 26, 2026, at the age of 54.
Jaime was born on October 31, 1971, in Los Angeles, California, to Jose De Jesus Barcena and Josefa Barcena. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose De Jesus Barcena, who passed away in 2012. He is survived by his loving mother, Josefa.
Jaime is one of fifteen children. He has his ten brothers, Rodrigo, Raul, Rudy, Rey, Jose, Ricky, Ruben, David, Flavio, and Albert, and his four sisters, Rosa, Veronica, Macrina, and Violet. Jaime treasured the relationships he built with his siblings, extended family, and friends throughout the years.
For twenty-five years, Jaime worked as a dedicated truck driver for Budweiser, beginning his career in 1994 and retiring in 2019. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment to providing for those he loved.
Above all else, Jaime was a devoted husband, father, soon-to-be grandfather, son, brother, and friend.
He was a baseball and football coach to his sons and a proud cheer dad to his daughter. He never missed an opportunity to support his children. Jaime had a remarkable gift for bringing people together, building a strong sense of community in his neighborhood and forming countless lifelong friendships.
He was self-taught in many trades, helping build their family home. Whether it was plumbing, electrical work, cement, landscaping, or roofing, Jaime was always willing to lend a hand and seemed to be able to do it all. He enjoyed his plants, sitting outside in his rocking chair in the front yard, making tacos for everyone to eat. He enjoyed spending time at the lake in the summer on his boat with his children, traveling to Hawaii with his wife, and creating beautiful memories that his family will now cherish forever.
Jaime adored all of his nieces and nephews and was known for playfully asking, “Who’s your favorite Uncle?” He always had bags of candies and ice cream as a treat for the little ones.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Karla Barcena. Their love story began when Karla was just fourteen years old. They later began their relationship in 1994 when Karla was eighteen and Jaime was twenty-two. Together they built a beautiful life and were married on October 13, 1998, married by the Catholic Church on April 26, 2003 and renewed their vows on August 9, 2015 sharing nearly twenty-eight years of love, partnership, and unwavering devotion.
To Karla, Jaime was her best friend, her safe place, and her everything. The love they shared was the foundation of their family, and the memories they created together will be cherished forever.
Jaime leaves behind his 4 beautiful children: his daughter, Sabrina; and his three sons, Jaime Jr., Jonathan, and Joseph. He was especially excited to become a grandfather, as his son Joseph and daughter-in-law Isabella are expecting their first child this fall. His family was his greatest source of pride and joy, and he loved them deeply. He was always smiling and he brought warmth and happiness to those around him.
Those who knew Jaime will remember his generous heart, his strength, his loyalty, and the love he gave so freely to those around him. He touched countless lives through his kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends.
Though our hearts are broken by his loss, we find comfort in the memories we shared and the love he leaves behind. Jaime’s legacy lives on through his family, the lives he touched, and the countless memories that will be treasured forever.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always. BARCENA
