He lived in the Chavez Ravine area until the Dodger's incorporated the land into Dodger Stadium as we know it today. He was the oldest of 4 siblings, 2 twin brothers Henry and Robert and 1 sister Delfina (Beltran).
John proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and as a military police officer at the Army post in Alaska. After serving in Alaska, John came home to California and married the love of his life Theresa and raised their 3 children, Jeanette, Norma and John. He dedicated his career to Safeway, working dutifully as a foreman and machine operator until his retirement. After he retired he found his greatest joy being surrounded by his family. A man of simple pleasures and rich passions, he loved spending hours tending to his garden and preparing delicious meals to bring his family together until the Lord called him home on September 11, 2026. John would take an ordinary plant bush and turn it into a bonsai masterpiece. He would make delicious spicy salsas that could light the bonsai on fire with its chili spices.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa; his daughters, Jeanette and Norma (Bill Quinones) and his son John (Patti). He is also remembered with warmth and devotion by his three grandchildren Michele (Gilbert Martinez), Andrew, and Jordan (Jocelyne); five great-grandchildren, Nadya, Alicynn, Gyanna, Madison, and Matthew; and five great-great-grandchildren.
His memory will live forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Thank you John P Aguilar for giving your family a wonderful life.
