Olivia Delgado-Hernandez, a devoted servant of God and a beacon of His love, was called to her heavenly rest on August 31, 2024, in West Covina, California, at the age of 52. Born on July 7, 1972, in Los Angeles, California, Olivia's life was a testament to the virtues of humility, gratitude, and respect for all of God's creation.
Her smile, a true reflection of her inner purity and joy, illuminated the lives of those she encountered. Olivia's presence was a balm to the weary and a source of light in moments of darkness. Her kind and compassionate spirit was a source of inspiration and comfort to many, and her presence was a gift cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
For 26 years, Olivia served her community through her vocation in real estate. Her dedication to her work was not merely a profession, but a calling—to ensure that every individual and family she assisted was treated with the utmost dignity and care, always placing their needs above her own.
Olivia's faith was the cornerstone of her existence, fervently practicing her beliefs and living out her devotion at St John the Baptist in Baldwin Park. Her faith was her compass, guiding her through life's trials and triumphs with a heart full of praise and a soul anchored in spiritual truth. Her commitment to her faith community was unwavering, and she served as a model of devoutness and grace.
Olivia leaves behind a legacy of love and selflessness. She is survived by her husband, Frank Hernandez; her loving father, Manuel Delgado; and her treasured children, Ruben Ortiz, Anjanette Vega, and Gregory Ortiz along with their respective spouses, Heather Ortiz, Ricardo Vega and Rebecca Rocha. She was the proud grandmother to Roman, Maverick, Noah Ortiz, Austyn Vega, and Mia, Mateo, Matilda Melendez; and the cherished sister to Lewas Dellgad. Olivia is now reunited in paradise with her mother, Maria Delgado, who preceded her in joining the celestial choir.
The family welcomes all who have been graced by Olivia's life to partake in honoring her soul's journey home. A Viewing/Rosary will be held on September 26, 2024, from 7:45 pm to 10:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Mass on September 27, 2024, at 1:00 pm, both at St John the Baptist in Baldwin Park. The interment will take place at 2:30 pm at Forest Lawn Covina.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Funeraria Del Angel in West Covina. In the wake of Olivia's departure, we are reminded to live with the same reverence for God's world, compassion for His creatures, and love for His people, as she did so exemplarily. We give thanks for the blessing she was in this life and rejoice in the knowledge that she has found peace in the loving embrace of the Lord. Her spirit, guided by faith and love, will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she has left behind.
