She was married to Gail W Welch Sr., who passed away on September 7, 1989.
She worked at Iowa Methodist Medical Center for 40 plus years until she retired. She loved to bake and was very famous for "Grandma Alberta's Butter Cookies," she would never tell you how much butter was actually in them.
Her hobbies were needlepoint, and her specialty was embroidery. She loved to travel when she was able to. She attended church at the Methodist Church.
Her sisters Dolores Lenocker of Windsor, Colorado, and Janice Wilson of Dixon, Illinois survive her.
She is also survived by grandchildren Henry Gail Gertsen, Tracy L Welch, Kirk B Welch (Thelma Lou), Brenda Welch-Pirillo (Pete), special nieces Cindy & Kathy Laws, Madonna Durham, Janet Porter, Joan Moll, nephew John Laws, and many other nieces and nephews that she loved so dearly along with great-grandchildren survive her.
Alberta's parents Albert & Emeline Anderson, husband Gail, sisters Charlotte Webb, and Emma Jean Doeden precede her in death. Alberta requested to be cremated. A private family burial will take place on Friday, April 10, 2020, when she will be laid to rest next to her husband at Waukee, Iowa.
