The world lost a beloved and caring soul with the passing of Andy Case in the early morning hours of October 8th, 2026, at the age of 42. Visitation services will be held on Thursday October 15th, 2026 from 4-7pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday October 16th, 2026 at 10:30am. Both services will be held at McLarens Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines, Iowa. A luncheon will be provided following Friday’s funeral service. A private burial will take place at a later date. Those attending either or both services are encouraged to wear Iowa State gear or cardinal/gold in honor of Andy’s love for the Cyclones. Those wishing to honor Andy’s memory may make memorial contributions to help support the care, well-being, and future of his two young children.
Andrew Joseph was born on August 1, 1984, in Des Moines, Iowa to Kevin Case and Sue Allen. He was the oldest of three siblings. During his early years he enjoyed playing baseball, camping, building with Legos, and playing pranks on family and friends.
Andy graduated from Adel-Desoto Minburn High School in 2003. From there, he attended DMACC and then Iowa State University where he graduated in 2012 with a degree in civil engineering. Andy had worked for the Dallas County Road Department, his dream job, since 2003, but for the past several years he served as the Assistant Engineer for the county. Andy had immense pride in his field and with Dallas County in particular and became a well-respected engineer across the state of Iowa. During his years with Dallas County, Andy also won several awards for his asphalt paving projects from Asphalt Paving Association of Iowa. He also liked to boast that, as an engineer, he could fix most anything and proved that many times over.
Shortly after his graduation from Iowa State University, Andy met Emily Tempel. The two were engaged a year after meeting and married on July 25, 2015. During their 11-year marriage, they worked together to build a family and a life they loved in West Des Moines.
Those closest to Andy knew this greatest accomplishment was his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, son, brother and uncle but more importantly as a loving father to his two boys Jackson and Landon. Andy is known for his humor and joking nature in almost all situations. He was the kind of person who you could always see smiling and usually ready to tell you a joke.
Andy enjoyed camping with his family in their camper, spending time with his family, watching his boys play soccer, watching sports (especially the Iowa State Cyclones), movies and having an eclectic taste in music.
Andy is survived by his wife, Emily; his children, Jackson and Landon; his parents, Kevin Case and Sue Allen; his brother Ryan Case; sister Azure Case; nieces and nephews including Kamiyah, Damari, Mila, Greyson and Bowen; and his mother and father-in-law Harold and Pat Tempel.
He was proceeded in death by his infant son, Weston and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
