Andy was born on October 10, 1979, to Louis and Peggy Mayfield in Des Moines, Iowa. He grew up in West Des Moines and joined the Army National Guard before graduating from Valley High School.
Andy proudly served as a Military Police Officer and was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After returning home, Andy built a successful career in the restaurant industry, eventually becoming the General Manager and Owner of Maxie's Restaurant in Des Moines.
In 2009, Andy met Wendy Dennis, and the two married in 2011. Together they built a family and welcomed two daughters, Lucy and Cecilia, who were the center of his world.
Andy had a mighty circle of lifelong friends and devoted parents who stood beside him through every chapter. He loved spending time with friends and family, whether it was around a poker table, target shooting, sitting by a fire, sharing stories, or driving the Mule around the farm. Those simple moments, filled with laughter, sarcasm, and good company, were some of his favorites.
Andy is survived by his wife, Wendy Mayfield; his daughters, Lucy and Cecilia; his parents, Peg and Lou Mayfield; his sister, Kiki Mayfield; his niece, Ellie; and his nephew, Ben.
