

Angie/Nina died on April 14, 2026 at Grand Living Tower Place with her daughter Kris at her side. She was born to Angelo and Amelia Brugioni on May 21, 1929 on the farm in Carney, Iowa. She grew up with nine siblings, dogs, cats, raccoons, chickens, and lots of cows. She was very proud of being Italian and was able to visit Italy during her lifetime. Angie married Roscoe Alexander on October 18, 1952. She would tell you she had a wonderful 50 years with him.
She graduated from Woodside High School in 1948 where she was a forward on the basketball team. Angie worked as a secretary at Wood Brothers Thresher Company before getting married. When her children were older she worked as a baker for Des Moines Independent Schools.
Angie lived a life full of joy and giving. She loved nothing better than giving everyone a hug or two or three whether she knew you or not. She enjoyed camping, traveling, family vacations, time spent with her grandchildren, golf, going to the casinos, cheering for her Iowa Hawkeyes, and attending football bowl games. Angie was a devoted member of Epworth United Methodist Church for 68 years and was active sewing quilt tops and helping with the free dinners.
She is survived by daughters, Kathy Weaver and Kristine Bush; son, Roscoe Alexander II; granddaughter, Melissa Weaver; grandson, Jarrod Bush; granddaughter, Jennifer Alexander; son-in-law, Steve Bush; daughter-in-law, Channy Alexander; siblings, Mary Jeanne Locke, Laura Rose Benjamin, and Joe Brugioni; other family and friends; and puppy, Peaches.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Alexander; grandson, Glen Weaver Jr.; granddaughter, Rachel Bush; son-in-law, Glen Weaver; parents, Angelo and Amelia Brugioni; brothers, Richard, Pete, Rico, Carl, Bob, and Tony Brugioni; dog, Skipper; and many other grand pups and cats.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Epworth United Methodist Church in Des Moines, Iowa where family will greet friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Refreshments will be served following the service. A private entombment will be at Resthaven Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Mercy One West Des Moines Medical Center and Mercy Clive Rehabilitation Hospital for the skillful and compassion care during her recovery from her stroke. A special thank you to Grand Living Tower Place for the love and care during her time there.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Angie’s honor can be made to the family for future designation.
