Anna Rose Presler

Anna Rose Presler, 92, slipped peacefully into Heaven on the morning of Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Per Anna’s wishes, there will be no funeral. A private burial will be held at Washington Township Cemetery in Duncombe, Iowa at a later date.

Anna was born in Duncombe, Iowa on August 26, 1934. She was a 1952 graduate of Eagle Grove High School and went on to Drake University where she received her master’s degree in 1964. Anna worked for Des Moines Public Schools for 39 years teaching regular and special education at several elementary schools. She retired in 1994 but continued her work with children through the Family Futures Network where she willingly volunteered to do whatever the childcare center needed for the children of homeless families. She was also an active member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Anna taught Sunday School and volunteered for many church activities. Although she was not Catholic, Anna had a special relationship with St. John’s Basilica close to her home. They looked after her property for many years, when she no longer could, and she enjoyed their company. She lived in her home for 70 years before moving to Valley View Village for the last months of her life. Anna was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings.
