Beatrice Johnson, 84, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2011 at Fountain West Health Care Center in West Des Moines. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at West Des Moines Christian Church. The family will also be honoring the life of Bea’s son, Richard Hayward.
Bea was born June 28, 1926 in Valley Junction, Iowa to John and Hazel (Lull) Woolley. She was a member of the West Des Moines Christian Church. Bea loved playing bridge, listening to the band Little Feat and Iowa Hawkeye football.
Bea is survived by her husband, Robert E. “Bob” Johnson of West Des Moines; four children, Gary Hayward of Ankeny, Linda (Gary) Porth of Waukee, Dee (Brad) Johnson of Los Gatos, California and Christine Johnson of Denver, Colorado; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren and sister, Cleo Woolley of Henderson, Nevada.
Bea was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Hayward; son, Richard Hayward; daughter, Donna Condry and grandson, Rob Condry.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the West Des Moines Christian Church.
