Betty Sue Hartman, 49, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014 surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines with visitation one hour prior to the service. Private inurnment will be at Peoples Cemetery, Woodward, IA at a later date.
Betty was born August 27, 1965 to Merritt and Susan Hadley. She graduated from North Alternative School in 1984. Betty was married to David Hartman on June 30, 2001.
Betty was employed at Ryko in Grimes where she enjoyed her many new friends and job as a receptionist. She enjoyed arts and crafts, watching movies and spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by her husband, David; mother, Susan (Michael) Green of Woodward; step-mother, Peg Hadley of Des Moines; daughter, Anneke Barr of West Des Moines; son, Matthew Barr (Valerie Coe) of Des Moines; step-daughter, Kristina Barr Shackelford; son, David Hartman Bates; brothers, David (Laura) Hadley and Frank (Jeri) Hadley of Des Moines; grandchildren, Skylar, Caleb, Hannah, Owen and Elias; and four step-grandchildren.
Betty has joined her father, Merritt; aunt, Sandra (Sam); and grandmothers, Marjorie and Barbara.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for future designation.
