William “Bill” Boller, 93, passed away October 23, 2018 at Senior Suites in Urbandale. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 27, 2018 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines with burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at McLaren’s.
Bill was born in Des Moines, IA on October 26, 1924. He lived all of his life in Des Moines. Bill served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and the Air Force during the Korean Conflict as a navigator on a B-29. He graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Bill worked at Des Moines Water Works for 31 years, retiring as chief chemist. He was married to Phyllis Van Horn in August of 1987 until her death in March of 2005. He was an avid bird watcher.
He is survived by his friend, Ann Schnepf; brother, Ted Boller; nephew, Bill Boller; niece, Barbara Hansen; and nephews; step-children, Bill Van Horn, June Lindner, John Van Horn, Jane Cunningham; step-grandchildren; and step-great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Urbandale.
