Brian T. Coughlin, 50, passed away suddenly from heart failure on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Methodist West Hospital. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Brian was born in Boston, MA, graduated from the University of Iowa and had lived in Des Moines since 1973. He was a Regional Vice-President of Transamerica Investments. Brian was an avid golfer, loved cooking and entertaining with his family and friends and was a proud member of the National Geographic Society.
Brian is survived by four brothers, David (Diana) of Des Moines, Kevin (Michele) of Overland Park, KS, William of Attelboro, MA and Stephen of Boston, MA; loving companion, Kay Creger; aunt, Mildred McDonald of Sommerville, MA; niece, Kristin (Mike) McCauley of Des Moines; and nephew, Patrick Coughlin of Overland Park, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen Coughlin.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at McLaren’s Chapel. Memorial contributions may be directed to Dowling High School.
