Cassie L. Shefman, 61, was born November 23, 1954 in Des Moines, Iowa and passed away August 1, 2016 in New Braunfels, Texas. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines, Iowa.
Cassie enjoyed getting together with friends, making people laugh, and traveling. She had a very good heart and often helped people in need. She loved dogs and she loved living in New Braunfels and tubing on the Comal River there.
She is survived by her mother, Jackie McClelland; sister, Debbie Carlson; and nephew, Zack Carlson, all of Omaha, Nebraska. Cassie was preceded in death by her father, Ramon E. Vermeulen; and grandparents, Howard and Pauline Young, and Edgar and Pearl Vermeulen.
