Charles Hollingsworth, 86, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 8, 2015. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines with burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Charles was born February 1, 1929 in Deep River, IA to Robert and Margaret Hollingsworth. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and later worked as an accountant at State Surety and Bonding and Carr-Moehl Millwork in Des Moines. Charles enjoyed traveling, bowling, walking at the mall, and attending his many nieces and nephews activities.
He is survived by his sister, Lenore (William) Markey; nieces, Dr. Margaret Hollingsworth (Tim Heuser), Shirley Markey and Laura (John) Walker; nephews, David Hollingsworth and Robert Markey; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
