Urbandale
Connie Kennedy, 80, passed away on October 22, 2013 at her home in Urbandale. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at McLaren’s Chapel with burial at Resthaven Cemetery.
Connie was born September 21, 1933 in Wilmington, IL to Ernie and Kay (Stroud) Pichon. She enjoyed playing bridge, collecting birds, doing crafts, was very artistic and a great cook. Connie’s main love was spending time with her family and friends. She loved celebrating birthdays and all other events with her daughters, son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, brother, nieces, nephews and friends.
Connie is survived by her three children, Kay (Errol) Ellefson of North Liberty, IA, Clayton (Karen) Kennedy of Des Moines and Dana (Travis) Baber of Urbandale; seven grandchildren, Janelle, Megan, Cassandra (Jim), Cody, Amanda (Ryan), John and Anna; five great-grandchildren, Caleb, Rebekah, Charlie, Owen and Wyatt; sister, Erna Kay (Larry) Wieland of Urbandale and brother, Bob (Cheryl) Pichon of Runnells. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kennedy and sister, Margie Brown.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at McLaren’s Chapel. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for distribution to various charities.
