Cyrus was born Feb. 4, 1922 in Des Moines, IA, the son of Frank and Lena (Popple) Kirk. He was married to Rosaline Stickler in April, 1951 in Centerville, Iowa. Cy was a retired Vice President of La Salle National Bank of Chicago, IL. He had previously worked for International Harvester Co. and spent 31 years in banking both in Des Moines and Chicago. He was also a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, Golden K Kiwanis and the Des Moines Golf and Country Club. Cy credited his survival in WWII to the excellent flight trainers he had in flight school, and the healthy longevity of his life to the words his Father taught him…. “Never put something in your mouth that will steal your brain.”
