Darlene Grant, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 7, 2012 at her home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel Chapel with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior the service at McLaren's
Darlene was born in Des Moines the daughter of Clarence and Alice Zika. She was a homemaker who spent her life caring for her family.
She is survived by her son, Larry Grant of Des Moines; daughter, Rhea (Tom) Lee of Crescent, IA; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Charlotte Pieart, Marilyn (Donald) Little, Eva Songer and Norma (Duane) Parkins; and two brothers, James (Wynita) Zika and Gene (Janet) Zika. She was preceded in death by her husband, LaRoy and five brothers.
