

David was born September 18, 1940, to Andrew and Isabel (Heggie) Adamson in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs in 1958, he attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha. While attending university, he worked part time for Ted Morse at Commercial Design and Engineering until the office closed in 1968. He went on to work for the Leo A. Daly Company in Omaha. In 1972, he became a registered and licensed Architect and continued to work for Leo A. Daly until 1979, when he accepted a position with General Growth Companies in Des Moines, Iowa. In September 1979, he and his wife and three children moved from Omaha to West Des Moines. In 1991, he formed the Hammond Adamson Design Group LLC with Art Hammond. After Art became ill, they dissolved their partnership and David retired. He continued working in retirement for the State of Iowa from 2000 to 2007.
David enjoyed playing the organ and walking along the beach. He was also really good at all the required home improvements needed over the years.
He was a dedicated and loving son, brother, husband, dad, and grandfather (Papa). He was a devout Christian and quietly lived his faith.
David is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Bea. He is also survived by: son, Todd of Des Moines and his wife, Laura, and their children, Lachlan and Audrey; son, John of Bend, Oregon and his wife, Adriane, and their son, Avery; grandson, Tyler McNulty of Des Moines and his wife, Kelcy, and their children, Miles and Charlotte; granddaughter Megan McNulty of Des Moines and her fiancé, Jeremy Young; and sister, Arbutis “Boots” Backens of Omaha.
He was preceded in death by parents, Andrew and Isabel Adamson, brother Ardon Adamson, and his dear daughter, Amy McNulty.
