David (Davey) Wayne Conley, 66, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Friday, November 5, 2021. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2021 at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines followed by the funeral service at 12 p.m. Burial will be at Jordan Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Dave was born on January 9, 1955, to the late George and Louise Conley at Ft. Campbell, KY. He grew up in Livonia, MI and graduated from Clarenceville High School in 1973. Dave attended Michigan State University and graduated with a degree in Wildlife Management in 1977. He also attended Frostburg State University where he continued his studies in Wildlife Management. Dave spent his summers in Iowa working for Polk County Conservation where he met his wife, Terri. He retired March of 2021 from Pioneer after 19 years where he worked as an Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security Associate.
Dave loved spending his time in nature, believed in the supernatural, and had a passion for outer space. He spent his free time working on family genealogy. One of the last things Dave was able to enjoy was watching his Michigan State Spartans win against the Michigan Wolverines.
Dave is survived by his wife, Terri of West Des Moines, IA; two daughters, Holly (David) Bagley of Livonia, MI and April Conley of West Des Moines, IA; and aunt, Marie Light of Buckhannon, WV. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Louise Conley.
