David James Dalrymple

David James Dalrymple, 60, died from a heart ailment on March 13, 2023 at home. Dave was born on June 2, 1962 in Des Moines to John and Shirley (Hicks) Dalrymple. He attended Valley High School and served in the Marine Corps. Dave worked as a concrete finisher for many years and was currently employed at Resthaven Cemetery as a Cemetery Services Specialist. His hobbies included radio-controlled car racing, building stock cars and rat rods. Surviving Dave is his wife of 28 years, Andrea; son Ryan Elliott(Bre); stepson Geoffrey Barnes (Kate); mother Shirley Conner; siblings Doug Dalrymple, DeAnn Dalrymple, Denise Conner Mineart (Henry), Terry Conner; Juanita Veenendaal (Marv) sister-in-law Pam Conner(Tracy) ; granddaughter Isabel Barnes and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his fathers John Dalrymple and Jimmie Conner, and his brother Tracy Conner. Funeral services will be 11 am, Saturday, March 18 at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Friday. Cremation will follow services.
