At the age of 3, he and his brother, Max, went to live with their grandparents after the death of their mother. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church and he graduated from Dexter High School.
In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating on the Mississippi. He was always a farm boy at heart and enjoyed spending time on the farm of his good friends Ted and Geri Lenocker. He was a proud Army Veteran having served our Country during the Korean War. After his service he moved to Des Moines, Iowa and worked many years at the Armstrong Tire Company and then later at Deery Brothers “chasing parts” as he would say.
He was a cherished member of his brother’s family and always attended our holiday gatherings. He loved hearing about his great nieces and nephews activities and watching videos of wrestling matches, dance competitions and raising sheep. He was an interesting, intelligent and kind man. He was loved and we know he is at peace with Jesus.
We need to say a special thank you to Jim Webb and his family for being such wonderful neighbors.
Dean you will be dearly missed.
