Dennis J. Clair, 56, ended his journey with cancer on January 25, 2016. He entered into eternal rest surrounded by family and friends in Evans, Georgia.
Mr. Clair, originally from Des Moines, joined the military in 1977. He spent over 21 years in the United States Army as a Master Instructor and attained the rank of First Sergeant for the 101st Military Intelligence Battalion in Wuerzberg, Germany. He spent his career providing mentorship and guidance to thousands of service members and their families.
After retiring from the military, Mr. Clair remained involved in the 706th Military Intelligence Group Family Readiness program, Senior Spouse program at Ft. Gordon, Georgia and his local community. His selfless service to others and dedication to the men and women of the military will have a lasting impact for years to come.
A memorial service with formal military honors was held in Ft. Gordon’s Good Shepard Chapel on January 29. Interment will be held at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines, Iowa at 2 p.m. on February 4. He is survived by his wife, Lisa; sons Christopher (Lacey) and Deven; grandchildren Conor, Ethan, and Abigail; his mother, Margaret Bennett; sisters, Rebecca Darden and Beverly Post; and brother, Jay Clair.
