Dennis Frank Pigneri, 70, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at his home in Scottsdale. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2021 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, at McLaren’s Chapel with burial at Resthaven Cemetery.
Denny was born and raised in West Des Moines and graduated from Valley High School-Class of 1969. He started Denny Pigneri Homes from the ground up and has been building homes for the last 39 years. Denny “Pig” was an auto enthusiast who loved classic cars and trucks, and riding Harley’s. After selling cars in the 70’s, Denny continued his auto trading passion into the Mecum and Barrett Jackson auctions up until his passing. He never missed a Good Guys Car Show or a day at the Iowa State Fair, and you could always find him outside of Jalapeño Pete’s!
Denny is survived by his son, Ryan (Jessica) and their two children, Cole and Piper; one brother, Dr. Charles Lew (Carmella) Pigneri; and one sister, Floreen (Paul) Fricioni; nephew, Charles J. (Lisa) Pigneri and their children, Ashley and Brooke; niece, DeAnne (Chris) Hays and their children, Bryce, Paige, and Chloe; and niece, Kristin (Eric) Barry and their children, Jamison and Reece. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Philamena (LePera) Pigneri .
