Donald T. Winston, 88, of Windsor Heights passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Fountain West. A Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with the rosary at 7 p.m. at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines.
Donald was born on September 25, 1922 in Des Moines the son of Robert and Theresa (Tillberry) Winston. He graduated from Valley High School and Drake University. Donald owned Seward Drug Store in Valley Junction for several years and worked for various pharmacies in
West Des Moines and Des Moines.
He is survived by his wife Betty of Windsor Heights; daughter, Carol (Kenneth) Coskran of Potsdam, NY; son, Mark of San Antonio, TX; three grandchildren, Theresa, Tim and Patricia; two great grandchildren; and a special niece, Leslie Thilges of Rochester, MN. Donald was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Phyllis Ridenour.
