Donna Faye Gilbert-Miller, 78, received her angel wings on Wednesday, February 18, 2015. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines with burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Donna was born December 13, 1936 in Davis City, IA to Loren and Hattie Vandel. She was a cafeteria manager for many years. Donna enjoyed playing piano and cards. She also volunteered in the Polk County Jail Ministry and the Shalom Bible College.
Donna is survived by her husband, Judge Theodore H. Miller Sr.; children, Richard (Roberta), Kim Gilbert-Stroeber and Karil Michael; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sierra, Joshua, Amanda (Brian) and Christa; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Cassie, Cheyenne, Cody, Kaleigha “Mouse”, Brianna and Madison; great-great-grandchild, Lahkoda; sisters, Lela Keller and Gayla Scott.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul I. Gilbert; parents; brothers, Arthur, Raymond and Joseph Vandel; sister, Marjorie Able-Beeler; and one great-granddaughter, Rebecka Stroeber.
