

Douglas Christiansen was born on November 21, 1949 in Forest City, Iowa to Gordon and Ruby Christiansen.
Doug graduated from Woden-Crystal Lake High School in 1968. Doug married Barbara Christiansen on August 1, 1970. They celebrated 50 years of marriage together. Doug and Barb were blessed with two children: Joe and Angie. Doug was a devoted husband and father. He was first and foremost a family man. Family meant more to Doug than anything other than God. Later in years, Doug had the blessing to enjoy grandchildren. Doug was a devout Catholic who had a strong faith in Jesus. Over the years, Doug would spend his time coaching Angie in softball and attend Joe’s and Angie’s events. Doug was a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. Doug also spent his time actively supporting his church in many ways.
Those left to Cherish his memories are his wife, Barbara Christiansen; children Angela Aldrich of West Des Moines and Joe Christiansen of Grimes; grandchildren; Sasha Festini, Brian Aldrich, Jocelann Christiansen, Annalise Christiansen, and Aubriann Christiansen; great-grandchildren; Huxley Aldrich and Aaliyah Festini; brother; Ronald Christiansen; sisters; Linda Lister and Mary Pavon and numerous extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gordon Christiansen; mother, Ruby Lovely; sister, Judy Chambers; parents-in-law, Frank and Mildred Holcomb.
