Dustin Byers was born to parents Brenda and Dick in 1982. In 1984, the family welcomed sister Casey. In 1985, his mother, Robin, and stepsister, Annie, joined his life and later added sister Julia. He graduated from East High School in 2001 and then joined the U.S. Navy, after the 9/11 attacks, where he completed 3 active-duty deployments. He was our hero.
In 2003 he had his first child, Serenity, and instantly fell in love with being a father. In 2004 he added Autumn. In 2011 he married Victoria (Tori) Kerr and added his first son Mason in 2008. He found his soulmate, Sarah, in 2021 which brought him his youngest son, Collin. In 2023, Serenity brought him his first grandchild, Anthony, who he adored. He was an amazing father but an even better husband. The love he and Sarah shared could be felt by everyone they met.
Dustin loved life! He loved fast cars and motorcycles and big tropical vacations! He was the best auto painter around, and was well known in the auto body community, most recently working at Karl’s Chevrolet. But most of all he loved being with his friends and family and soaking up every moment he could drinking his girly drinks! He was stoic, strong, an unbreakable rock for all of those in his life. He loved fiercely and everyone who knew him felt that. But those who got to know his goofy side were truly blessed and will never forget how much he made them smile. The hole left in our hearts is unfillable, it’s never ending, it’s all-consuming. We will forever miss you, Dustin.
Dustin leaves behind his soulmate and loving wife, Sarah Byers; his four children, Serenity (Phoenix Jones) Byers, Autumn (Brennan Spengler) Byers, Mason Byers, and Collin Tullie; grandson, Anthony Clinton; mother, Brenda (Michael) Schurhamer; father, Richard “Dick” (Darla) Byers; sisters, Casey (John) Byers, Annie (Philip) Byers, and Julia (Ryan) Bauman; his grandmothers, Arlene Byers and Sue Gau; many nieces, uncles, aunts, friends (including best friends, Zach (Britt) Newell and Brandon Duart; and his beloved dogs Hershel and Huxley.
