Jim Keltner, 73, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, February 26, 2015 at McLaren’s Chapel with burial at Cambridge Cemetery in Cambridge, IA.
Jim was born September 28, 1941 in New Jersey to Edward James and Frances Darlene (Rush) Keltner, Sr. He was an auto mechanic and maintenance engineer at Tone’s Spices in Ankeny. Jim loved traveling and spending time with his family.
Jim is survived by his son, Jim (Kate) Keltner III of Hamilton, IL; two step-daughters, Danita (Steve) Tesser and Kris (Dale) Wright both of Des Moines; four grandchildren, Jim Keltner IV of Waukee, Michael Keltner of Iowa City, Jaynah and Maryah Wright both of Des Moines; three siblings, Faunda (Danny) Russell, Sandra Viers and John Haag all of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Keltner; grandson, Joseph Keltner and sister, Georgia Beeman.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McLaren’s Chapel. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
