Edward “Ed” Saner, 62, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa, surrounded by his loving family. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at McLaren’s Chapel with burial at Resthaven Mausoleum.
Ed was born in Griesheim, Germany, April 11, 1950 to Everett and Rosalia Saner. He graduated from Ankeny High School in 1969 and retired in 2002 from John Deere in Ankeny after 30 years of service.
Ed is survived by his children, Michael Saner, Cheri Saner and step-son, James Saner; his mother, Rosalia Johnson; brothers, Robert (Peggy) Saner, Nelson (Jean) Saner, Dennis Saner and David (Carla) Saner; and his sisters, Nancy (Mark) Smith and Linda Saner. He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Saner on March 17, 1990.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
