Elizabeth Anne Gamble, 87, passed away peacefully at Woodlands Creek on January 22, 2021. A visitation will be held at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel on Friday, January 29 from 10 to 11 A.M. Due to COVID guidelines, a private family service will be held afterwards. The family invites Elizabeth’s friends to join them via Facebook livestream.
Elizabeth was born to Walter and Vera (Troup) Woodward on December 2, 1933 in Maxwell, IA. Elizabeth was united in marriage to Wilbur Gamble on September 25, 1953. She will be remembered for her love of gardening, canning, sewing, crocheting, and reading.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Deb Hotchkiss of West Des Moines, IA; son, Ronald (Vickie) Gamble of Knoxville, IA; grandchildren, Melinda (Doug) Sutherland of Harvey, IA, Mike (Rechelle) Gamble of Knoxville, IA, David (Jessica) Hotchkiss of Indianola, IA, and Sarah (Danny) Dowd of Ankeny, IA; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Cassidie, and Nattilie Billiter of Harvey, IA, Cameron and Isabella Sutherland of Harvey, IA, Kason, Kolton, and Lane Gamble of Knoxville, IA, and Lydia Hotchkiss of Indianola, IA; great-great grandchild, Tessa; sister, Ellen Kueker, and many nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Wilbur Gamble; parents, Walter and Vera Woodard; siblings, Howard Woodard, William Woodward, and Pearle Elder; and great-granddaughter, Lillie Bilter.
Memorial contributions for Elizabeth can be made out to her family for later distribution.
