Erin B. Kelly, 43 of Des Moines passed away Friday, March 18, 2011 at Methodist Hospital. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines with family interment at a later date. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at McLaren’s. Erin was born on October 6, 1967 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of James and Sylvia (Simon) Kelly. She graduated from Valley High School in 1986 and received her BA in Communication Studies from the University of Iowa. She presently was an administrative coordinator for MECCA Services in Des Moines. Erin is survived by her mother Sylvia of Des Moines, sisters Lora Kelly-Benck (Gary) and their children Morgan and Peter of Des Moines, and Paula Kelly of Coralville. She was preceded in death by her father, James. We are so grateful that after so many difficult years of pain that she is at peace. The loves of her life were her dog Hugo and her two cats Walter and Frank. Memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League.
