Frank Thomas Harrison

Frank Harrison passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026. Born on January 27, 1941, to Ray and Dorothy Harrison in Des Moines, Iowa, Frank lived a life defined by kindness, humility, hard work, and devotion to his family.

Frank graduated from Drake University and went on to earn his law degree from Creighton University School of Law in 1967. That same year, he married the love of his life, Pamela Bradley. Together, they built a loving home and raised four sons: Brad, Brian, PJ, and Mike.

Frank practiced law for over 40 years and was a managing partner at Hopkins and Huebner. He believed deeply in public service and in giving back to the community. He served on the Commission on Alcoholism and the Iowa Commission on Substance Abuse, and his many board memberships included nearly 30 years on the board of GuideOne Insurance, as well as Polk County Health Services and the Board of Trustees for Broadlawns Medical Center.

To his friends and family, Frank was a steady presence; a rock who offered support, wisdom, and thoughtful counsel through difficult times. He had a generous spirit, a quick sense of humor, and a gift for making those around him feel cared for and understood.

Frank’s favorite place was the house on Table Rock Lake. He enjoyed sailing and pulling the boys behind the ski boat. He loved quiet mornings on the deck, sipping coffee while listening to music, and watching the water. As much as he treasured those peaceful moments, nothing brought him more joy than time spent with his grandchildren; playing the ukulele, making them laugh, and especially making pancakes in the morning.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Dorothy and his half-brother, Jack. He is survived by his wife, Pamela; his sons and daughters-in-law: Brad and Mary, Brian, PJ and Kelley, and Mike and Jen, and his seven grandchildren: Kay, Taylor, Matthew, Parker, Clark, Sarah, and Emily.

He will be missed terribly, but his memory will live on in the stories his family and friends share, and in the example he set through a life of quiet strength and selflessness. As he often said to his family, “I love you a teeny tiny little bit…nah! A whole bunch, forever and ever!”
