Gail I. Wheeler, 79, was called home on Friday, April 28, 2017. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at McLaren’s.
Gail was born December 20, 1937 in Seattle, WA to Huber and Louise (Curzon) Twilligear. She received her Master’s in Education from Central Washington University. Gail enjoyed learning, music, gardening, and traveling. She was also a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Gail is survived by her children, James Jr. “Jay” (DeLana) of Dayton, OH, Dr. Wendi Wilson of Clive, IA, Michael of Southern California, and Samuel (Natasha) of St. Louis, MO; seven grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren with one on the way; siblings, David (Caryl) Twilligear, Louise Ann (Dr. Tom) Van Eaton, and Tom (Silvia) Twilligear. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 51 years, James “Jim” Wheeler.
