Genevieve D. Wagner, 94 passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Manor Care in West Des Moines, IA after a long battle with Lewy Body dementia. A visitation for Genevieve will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McLaren's Resthaven Chapel, 801 19th Street, West Des Moines, Iowa. A funeral service will occur Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Timothy Episcopal Church, 1020 24th Street, West Des Moines, Iowa. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Gen was born August 17, 1927 in Kingsport, TN to the late Wiley and Gladys Henderson and had one sister, Margaret Johnson. When she was 2 years old her family moved to West Des Moines, IA. She graduated from Valley High School. After high school she married Leslie Wagner and had two daughters, Joan and Judy. She worked in the Administrative office and retired after 23 years from DMACC. Gen loved participating in the alter guild at her church St. Timothy’s in West Des Moines and was also a member of the Eastern Star. She loved watching the Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball games. Most of all she enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends.
Gen was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Wagner; parents, Wiley and Gladys Henderson, sister, Margaret; and brother-in-law, Marvin Johnson. Gen is survived by her daughters, Joan (Don) Sneddon of West Des Moines, IA and Judy (David) Mohr of Manteno, IL; seven grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
