George “Bud” Grim, 60, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2010 at his home. Memorial Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines with inurnment at a later date at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McLaren’s Chapel.
He was born on March 26, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of George and Joyce “Fern” (House) Grim. Bud attended Johnston High School and was a shipping foreman for Hy Line International for 35 years.
He was a great husband, father and grandfather who loved to fish and hunt and spend time with his family and grandchildren.
Bud is survived by his wife of 42 years, Charlene of West Des Moines; son, Dustin (Rose) Grim of Stuart; two daughters, Leslie Fredericksen (Billy M.) of Stuart and Shelley (Donnie) Reimers of Pleasant Hill; mother, Joyce “Fern” Grim of Panora; sister, Beverly Williams of Colfax; brother, Gerry (Connie) Grim of Coon Rapids; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by all.
Bud was preceded in death by his father, George Grim, Sr. and grandson, Dustin Grim, Jr.
