Geraldine “Geri” Troxel, 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 22, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Geri was born January 3, 1960 in Madison, WI to Gerald and Marijo Butler. She had a passion for her work excelling in health benefits and payroll at the Gillotti Companies, Des Moines General Hospital, and the Des Moines Register and Tribune. Her organizational skills shined through as she planned several family reunions, creating joyful memories for everyone involved.
Geri is survived by her father, Gerald “Jerry” Butler; sister, Mary Butler; brother, Dave (Mindy) Butler; niece, Teagan; nephews, Quintin and Blake; as well as several uncles and an aunt, and cousins. She shared a special bond with her two cousins from Green Bay, WI, Sandy (Kasey) King and Jeanne Calhoun. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marijo (Calhoun) Butler and several uncles.
Her spirit and the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
