Bob Hopkins, 72, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2014 at Fountain West Health Care Center in West Des Moines. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Church of Christ in Des Moines followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Bob was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Robert and Lula (McCullough) Hopkins. He was a long time minister and retired from Ingram Entertainment. Bob attended the University of Northern Iowa and David Lipscomb College in Nashville, Tennessee. He lived in the West Des Moines area for over 30 years and was a member of Evergreen Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Hopkins; two sons, Mike (Linda) Hopkins of Osceola, Iowa and Randy (Jill) Hartley of Adel, Iowa,; three daughters, Angel (David) Streebin of Omaha, Nebraska, Lori (Richard) Newman of Ankeny, Iowa and Kelly (Dan) Olson of Ankeny, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, George (Linda) Hopkins of Orange, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, H. Robert (Bo) Hopkins, Jr. and brother, Richard Hopkins.
